Blessed Griffon Farming
Yes, Blesssed and not with a 55.
Equipment:
Glads with Ascalon Helm
Superior Vigor
Superior Tactics
Superior Absorption
Superior Sword
Minor Strength
Weapon:
Vampiric Sword is a MUST. Pommel makes no difference...mine has a +22 Fortitude.
Any -2 enchanted shield.
Attribute points:
Healing at 10
Tactics at 15
Sword at 13
Skills
Mending
Live Vicariously
Healing Signet
Bonetti's Defense
Riposte
Deadly Riposte
Final Thrust
Hundred Blades
How it works:
Aggro and slash away. Watch for Symbol of Wrath to fire up, then MOVE. Once all the Griffon's you aggroed have used it, you can stand still. Use Deadly Riposte when moving and Hundred Blades when they cast SoW so you can build up adrenaline and use Bonetti's while moving. I tried Savage slash to disrupt SoW, but it just isn't necessary. It's easier to move...just be aware of your surroundings. Use Riposte's when ready and HB when ready. Don't sit on HB. If it's charged, use it.
Here is all you need to know about why this works:
Live Vicariously + Vampiric + Hundred Blades is a MASSIVE life gain. With 4 enemies you see:
+ 12 + 12 + 3 + 3 + 12 + 12 + 3 + 3 + 12 + 12 + 3 + 3 + 12 + 12 + 3 + 3
Across your screen with each HB. 120 Points of health-spike every 8 seconds. Plus you gain 15 with every swing as well.
You CAN kill a Heretic with this. Focus on him and spam the living hell out of Healing Signet. The Vamp + Signet can out heal his Degen and the Vamp does extra damage at the same time. Once he is below 50%, Final Thrust him. Usually the Heretic is paied with 1 Griffon. You need to be good at pulling to separate the Heretic from the Griffons. You can kill the Heretic with a couple of Griffons, but just watch for Symbol of Wrath. You can also kill Giant Herders, Azure Shadows and the Griffon Bosses. Dolyak Masters, not so much. Not sure about the Azure Bosses, but I would assume so.
Drops:
Gold, Monk Weapons, Feathers, Purple and Gold Weapons (had a purple Zealous Fellblade of Fortitude drop).
Flame away.
Next post: Sand Giants.

I'm going to guess this is a run where you you don't want to use Dolyak Sig. When moving away from SoW, you don't want the 75% snare.

Since when did you have to be a 55 to do this farm anyway?
I have a similar build myself, but it's for axe warriors, Cyclone axe makes things much easier:
Cyclone Axe
Bonetti's Defense
Live Vicariously
Vigorous Spirit
Healing Breeze
Gladiator's Defense
Balthazar's Spirit
Dolyak Signet
Here's what you do:
1)Cast Live Vicariously and Balthazar's Spirit
2)Then, go to the Griffons, catching a few Minotaurs on the way
3)Then, when they gather near you, cast Gladiator's Defense, and start chopping at one of the Minos/Griffons with your Axe and keep using Cyclone Axe
4)When Gladiator's Defense wears off, activate Bonetti's Defense, and Healing Breeze/Vigorous Spirit if you have health problems, Dolyak Sig if you have Energy problems.
5) Find the next group and repeat. Note that you must keep attacking in order for Live Vicariously to keep healing.
Tactics:13
Healing Prayers: 12
Axe Mastery: 13-16 (your choice if you want the extra health)

Griffon's don't really drop anything special for me. Their body part drops are lower than other high level areas (frosted wings, 8g: trade for items from collector outside rankor^_^). Plus I've never received anything decent from them. Even this build works:
Tactics: 16 (12+3+ascalon helm)
Healing Prayers: 8
Swordsmanship: enough to meet the req on your sword.
Skills:
Glad's defense{E}
Bonneti's Defense
Heal Sig
Riposte
Deadly Riposte
Watch Yourself
Heal Breeze
Mending
They aren't a real threat. Just move out the way when they cast holy wrath. They also don't have much hp, so they go down quickly. Also, keep an eye on holy strike, and heal when needed. Of course, use Bonneti's for energy regen.
I consider this to be a universal build against melee opponents. And it works for me against blessed griffons. Not much to them.

Lord Sabir, I don't think you understand. He's not farming Desert Gryphons outside of Augury, he's farming Gryphons in the Southern Shiverpeaks. Right outside Camp Rankor. This is a much more difficult farming spot than the desert runs...(though the drops aren't that great if I remember correctly).
Anyway, interesting build...fairly straightforward, but nice that you can kill the heretics.

Ah, my mistake. The build works quite nicely for Desert farming though. I got roughly anywhere from 900g-1.6k every ten minutes.

I've had good drops. The collector for the frosted wings gives the Strength based -3/+60 while Hexed shield. People buy those for 2.5k. There are always people in Rankor WTB Frosted Griffon Wings...easy 200g. Like I said, I had a nice Fellblade drop. It also a nice change of pace and more challenging than trolls or Desert Griffons.
I can pretty much guarantee you can't kill a Heretic with that build...which is a must if you want to get all the Griffon's here. There can be anywhere from 3-6 Heretics here. You certainly aren't going to do any signigicant damage to him before he shatters your enchantments (including Healing Breeze) and slaps Crippling Anguish and Conjure Phantasm on you. Beefing your Armor does no good against degen and Holy Damage. And mixing in some Azure Shadows with the Griffons, as is often the case, makes it even harder because they (Not the Griffons) use Retribution and Holy Wrath. Smack one of those punks with Hundred Blades and you cut your health gain in half.
